Sigh. My exercise regime was scuppered by the flu bug! Darn. Mon and Tues i went to SRC to gym/swim, but fell sick on Wednesday! Sigh. So much for my initial plan.

Anyway guys, really need prayer! The May Play (that rhymes) is coming up! This one is really on a tight schedule, so pray that it all goes well, and that most importantly, God is glorified! Here's the poster (In case you wonder, no, i'm not wearing make-up!)(Dunno why the colour is like that though!)
Do continue to work hard and experience as many things as you can over there! And update us!

JK in the house.

Hey everyone.

I finally bothered to hit this blog again, so now first to Asher and Alden there, over in Perth. Some advice.

Australian school is FUN. FUN FUN FUN. You have fun all the way through. My final, most serious year of school was also the craziest, most whacked up year of all.

I'm not saying don't work, you know, but the key in an Aussie school, is to understand. Sure, ROTE learning works, but if you understand, believe me when I say it makes it easier. Work smart, and not hard, and you'll kick ass. Thats how we roll. I'm sure you do fine if you keep that in mind.

To everyone else. You guys are all asian, meaning that you guys have relatively small eyes. It also means that you have a 25% chance of possessing a wimp gene, and if have a 48% chance of being an overall pretentious knob. Furthermore, if you live in NSW, you have a 103% chance of going to UNSW at some point in your life.

Hey, Nick, I'll get back to you about that England thing yeah? Vene may want to tag. Anyway, lets go there, get rained on, and I'll tell those poms that their Union team is pathetic, and without Johnny Wilkinson, it would be a headless chook.

Later!

nag nag nag

Oh excellent to hear from you boys :)

Hope that you guys will still work hard - holidays doesn't mean you forget your work!

And the blubber doesn't have to stay there asher... Haha - is the exercising still going on?

Anyway for me - work is still going on, and seems that i'm still having things piling onto me - i think it's time i learnt how to say NO haha... In case you didn't know, i'm bunking in Joshua's room now because my parents are overseas and the maid has gone home :( But hey, loving it here - his room is neater than mine (although it consequently has less things) and his place is so close to work i get to sleep in a little more!

Just remember boys, in all you do, if you want to be any good, you have to put in the effort, and it is long-term. It took 2 years and the army discipline to get me in shape, and i have no regrets about it except that i wish i started before army! It doesn't matter if its studying or exercising or even hobbies! Doing 100 hundred push-ups in a day won't have significant effect unless you keep it going, everyday if possible. Set yourselves some goals/guidelines, like maybe this week i will jog 3 times, do push-ups 5 times, and keep to it as much as possible! Sometimes that means having to push yourself even if you're aching or tired. And make sure you do it properly! 10 good push-ups is better than 50 half-hearted and rushed ones.

Motivation gets you started, but habit keeps you going. So make sure the two of you work with each other and push each other on, because if you don't keep it going, you won't see results!

Why not the 2 of you discuss some goals and put it up here :) Then all of us can encourage you!

That's the number of germs living on my keyboard. Which is the rough equal of the total number of germs on 8 toilet seats, amazing isn't it?

Ok, enough about that, life here has certainly has shown its up and downs. And now its the downside. The weather is going through negative retardation, in a hilarious sort of way. Asher is well like he stated earlier, he is now blubber-buddy.(just in case u all thought that was Karrington)

But its the holidays so I'm having a jolly time watching movies with mum,dad and Asher for most of the day. And that 20-man dog paddle thing sounds fun and yet harsh, I mean, Xiong seems to have a lot of fun in NS (Ok I know, SCDF but whatever, its still 2 years of compulsory service) and to Vene who finally blogged. I don't really know if we can come during July, depends on what happens and my mum and dad. I wonder if u guys go crabbing?

Nevertheless, thank God for Asher ( YES ) cos he's an EXCELLENT source of HEAT. Oh and the heater which doesn't seem to work properly. Perhaps you might be thinking, Utterly deceptive twaddle-speak. But its real, Asher is hot, amazingly to some extent, most of the time. (HOT AS IN FEELING HOT AND SWEATY)

Well I think I have gone round and round in circles so enough jabbering and I'll let the cuttlefish do the talking.

A Flat-footed Life

So, this week. I learned how to aqua-jog. Its resistance belt water jogging, and its a lot more tiring than you might suppose. Imagine like, 20 guys holding their hands above the water, paddling like a dog, except with their bodies straight and kicking like mad to get to the other side. Sweet.

On a good note, I've lost 5 kilos since going in. That like, amazing I reckon. I'm now 27.7 BMI (: Down from 29.2 BMI. So go figure, and that video was shot before I did the PAN video, so you'll be surprised at the end of 11 more long weeks in training.

Whats there to update? All my muscles are more than sore. My voice is gone from echo-ing too much. And I've cleaned the toilets too many times this week. Its a pain being a toilet-ic. Good news is, I pass on my duties this week. But seriously, I'm getting afraid for my IPPT in about 4 weeks time. Currently, I can do 3 pull-ups, thats 3 short of the standard that I have to attain. Its going to be a pain, but with weight loss, muscle gain, and God, it'll be close.

Stamina-wise, I feel less tired given that I have to climb 4 levels worth of stairs up and down daily at least 5-6 times. And a billion jumping jacks. We have PT at least 3 times a day. Some days 4. So, yeah I believe I'm going somewhere (:

Well, I need to enjoy my rest on the weekend, so I'll leave it at that. Pictures in a few weeks when I've lost more weight.

~toodles!

VENE VENE VENE

I'm on!!!! Hehe. It worked and I even managed to authorise myself. Haha. Cool. Umm.. I just blogged on mine, so I can't actually blog about my life. Cos this blog's not actually about me anyways! Hee. It's about my cousins. Yay!

Anyways, Aunty Sue was saying for Asher and Alden to fly over in the July holidays. So you guys... if you all wanna come you just have to let JK know so that he can arrange some stuff for you. Hehe. Hi JK! *very niiice*

I miss you all lots and lots. It's nice having gatherings and all. Anyways.. uni for me has been boring. Oh.. except for me learning Spanish! Haha. So Ernie if we go backpacking in Europe, the Spanish might come in handy. Hehe! But... before that I'll have to try and earn some money first. Well.. hopefully I'll be graduating this year! Yay!! And then I'll start working (that means no holidays :( ) but then I'll be earning some money so that we can go travelling. Maybe all of us? Haha. I don't know.

Anyways.. just wanted to leave a short blog. Will be back soon!

P.S. Oh by the way.. just wanted to add that - Xiong, either you've lost weight.. or you just have taken the pics and filmed on a good angle. I like to think that you've lost weight, and I'm sure you'd like me to think that way too. Nice job. Looking good, bro :)

SCDF and you.

Wow. First week book-out. I think the SAF guys are probably upset right about now. But then again, most of them that are in at this stage won't be out to read this anyway. (ha!) The news is out, I have a new phone. Its funky and it takes pictures. Bleh. So, this isn't convention, but hey I suppose a photo post would be nice right? But I don't exactly have the content to fill up all this space. So I'm just going to rant about my daily schedule in the army at least for orientation week. Or something to that extent. Thats Madeline on the right. She's my current pride and joy. And I love her to bits. Yum. Feast on it and drool. So in the morning, we get up at 4am. Pack our beds. Change into Physical Training Kit or PT Kit for short. Check the locker. Answer any unanswered messages. Wake the rest of the bunk. Polish boots. Brush teeth. Before shortly falling in down stairs with my platoon with our mess trays and mess mugs full to the three dots awaiting water parade. Whats water parade? We drink water, easy as that. We fall in, diam the company when the DIs come, greet the DIs, ask for permission to continue, sediah and then shout, "Charlie, drink up, booyah!" and then proceed to drink the water. After that, kneeling on one foot and holding the mess mug over our heads. Morning PT follows that. I've got amazing DIs, Lances and Corporals. And one heck of a Sergeant. Respect due, respect given, lovely. Exercise, and more exercise. Basic routines, jogs the like, then we fall in for breakfast. After breakfast we had talks since it was orientation week. For some/most it was sleeping time. For the rest of us, it was nudging time when the speaker looked our way in a nervous bid to wake up our platoon mates. Lovely. This normally goes on till about 9.30am. So after that, we're still doing orientational stuff like bunk talks, uniform, area cleaning, toilet cleaning, bunk cleaning, ironing. A lot of maintenance this week. I believe next week will be more super (:

At night when we get to talk to loved ones. I called my mum every night! (: I know I left out a lot, but the internet is hardly the best medium to discuss army stuff as most army guys would know. So, be happy! (:

Toodles!
Josh

Eh.

Doesn't posting your combination on the net negate its effectiveness? Haha. Though i guess you could change it...

Anyway boys sorry for the long break in between posts. Finding my last few days packed again , what with work starting and all. I'm now working in Citibank! I've had 2 dinners in the last 2 days, yesterday was buffet to send Josh off, and today i had dinner with my ex-colleagues (sans Josh Lim). On Sunday we (Dwayne Yang Ernie) watched the Pillowman - the most morbid play i've seen so far! It was a little draggy at times but pretty enjoyable, and really got you thinking!

Now still pondering whether to go watch the Great Spy Experiment. With Josh in NS, don't really have a person to go with so...

Anyway, here are more photos!

Plus some rather blu-ed out ones!

Still waiting for you to update us boys! How's the weather there and your exercise regimes?

Oh yeah, btw - it's Reggae, not Raggae. And by the sound of it sounds like Asher's listening to the hip-hoptised "modern" versions... Listen to some of the traditional ones. A good place to start is Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry, Get Up Stand Up, I Shot The Sheriff etc...

Take note that Reggae draws alot from Rastafarian - some sorta Christian cultish thing... Wiki it!

Permutation and ...

Combination locks. Disgusting. I hate these things. Ever so recently (yesterday in fact), I decided it would be a super idea to set the combination lock on my Gibson hardcase. I remember setting it to 007, testing it once and it worked then.

And then, I tried it again when I wanted to open the case, and it didn't work. Sweet.

So I spent a while last night, starting from 000, before shortly giving up at 068. I was looking on youtube to how to open combination locks. Turns out it didn't help much. Wasted an hour trying to find a shorter way.

This morning began another search, albeit I thought I'd conquer it by the 100's. And start at 500. So I worked my way up slowly. 565..586..598... and whoop! nothing.. It didn't seem to take me too long, so I started on 600..638 and I felt a click when I went to 8.. So I thought, hey maybe 8 is correct.. So I played around with the middle number.. Turns out the combination was 678!! (:

My Gibson is in safe hands now and 678 combinations can't fail me.

Army Jitters (and clarification)

The sunny is mine for a while (:

Firstly, hometeam = supporters. Stella Memory consists of Edmund (vocals), Ernie (lead guitar, backup vocals), Me (rhythm guitar, backup vocals), Mark (promark bassist) and Cliff (drummer).

Second, I'm going to the army soon. Those in the SAF will correct me and say SCDF, but I don't care. Take your SAF stuff elsewhere. Those in ORD, all the more further away from me.

So there.

You go girl!

Congratulation?

Alright! Xiong*, what does a stomach flipping feel like? Anyways, things have been slightly duller since Nicky* and Lincoln* left. And its been getting much colder (Good thing you were here when it was hotter) and much crazier. For starters, Asher is more Raggae (the genre) music than EVER. Its driving me up the wall, which by the way is DETRIMENTAL to my health.

And Yeah for Aunty Hazel who actually sung for the audition. ( I want to see the pictures if there are any, cause that would be absolutely awesome ) Plus, Asher has grown. ( In height and width if your wondering ) and I seem shorter ( cause Asher grew taller ) and I have yet to see Vene blog on this!** Lincoln, show them the 'chiu chiu' dance if you are free.
All the best!

Alden was here.

*God bless you in National Service (Xiong) and school / University (Nicky and Lincoln)
**Yes, you have to cause its shared.

Stellare Chunky Monkey

Wow. What a super Monday night. I don't think there was anything else to describe the anticipation and excitement we had towards being able to "perform" at a venue, much less given the fact that we've only jammed together for like what 5 times in total. Wow.

For those of you who didn't know, my band of brothers Stellar Memory and I auditioned for a spot at B&J's Cathay at 9pm on Monday night. I think my stomach was flipping in and out multiple times in a minute, as we set up. It was interesting.

*before I digress, thanks Yang for your Taylor. Cleaned your Taylor so quite a fair bit of the muck that you've built up over the years is now disappear. Oh, and had to restring, so I'll get you another pack of Elixirs from somewhere. Light? or Medium? (:

We did Chris Daughtry's Home as a warm-up. It was a myriad of getting levels, getting ready. And thankfully, the guys brought support. My hometeam consisted of Jay, Nick and my precious Mum. Whoo! Go you guys! Following that, we just did what we practiced the night before and hoped for the best. Despite nerves, we pulled it off decently.

So, what about it? Yea, we passed the audition (: with flying colours? Especially in our own eyes, in spite of our mistakes during the audition, I think we passed it well.
