So anyway, back to the cryptic title. Did New Balance REAL Run today. Man, it was hots!!! I ran with my friend and we both agreed it was more tiring than the marathon (for the same distance at least). Guess its really hot, or - we're getting old.
Some photos:

Solitude

Black Holes

Josh never thought he misses you.

I look for a song. Because for every situation one goes through, there is a song to be sung, to be written. Be it of joy, gladness, thankfulness, sorrow, loneliness and quiet wisdom. I look towards song, for songs can be sung admist the darkest of times, much like a light that illuminates the darkest of nights and guides one to the elusiveness of home. It is a reflection of my understanding or lack thereof, an expression of hope and my shield against insanity.

You have two options, sing or go insane.

Finally got some sneakers.

Recently recarpetted my pedalboard! (: Now it looks less dark and more inviting.

Morning Kembangan Jogging - 5:55am, waiting for Elnaam who didn't show.

Been co-relating 6/8 and 4/4 timing with some interesting results.

selamat berhari raya!

Hi all, just to update - most of you all will know by now i'm in Cultural Activities Club band - well, we had a gig just yesterday! It was at Northbrooks Secondary School, as part of some international buffet thing, so we all had to play various requested foreign songs. The band is quite big, so i only played 2 songs, but i think i had the best 2 songs lol! A hari raya song and a filipino song. mmmhmmm.

So here we have the students, unfortunately a bit QUIET:
The drums weren't too bad - mostly cause another guy, alvyn, brought all his cymbals and stuff. The actual drums weren't too bad either! If we didn't bring our own snare and cymbals i think it would have sounded much worse though (at least to the drummers). But no monitors, an unadjustable drum throne - killers by any means! i think i played quite badly today, but ah who cares!

So to all aspiring drummers out there. Next time when thinking about cymbals and snares - also consider investing in a good THRONE for you to seat.

the guy in green shirt is dan - he's from manchester, with mmmmm ang moh looks - these are like 2 of his 12043905894358209385 screaming fans. loll.

REUNION

Running Vertically

Filling a black hole. What's a black hole? Its a vacuum in a vacuum (space). I see it as this hole that sucks up everything else around it. Trying to begin filling it would be a fruitless effort that had no future to begin with. Yet leaving it untouched is detrimental to all that exists around it. Everyone has black holes, spaces they try to cram with games, work, music or hobbies so as to not think about the void that exists inside.

So as I quietly sit and contemplate, there is a peace in solitude as I delve into understanding the mysteries of my own black holes. Gaps I know exist because of past experiences and walls I've put up. At the same time, the more I contemplate, the more it sinks in that no matter how familiar Singapore is, there is an element of lonesomeness in it. When will we break away from being fickle? Caring on the outside, skin-deep ministries on the inside. Passe superficialities. Where is home? How long will it take to find it? A place where warmth exists in the heart and not in a handshake. Where words have weight, and promises hold true. In a time when human relations are limited to being tangents to the curve of relationships, where will I find you home?

Your mouth is moving but...

You're all probably wondering about the topic name eh? Well it just speaks of a somewhat strange holiday. Yes currently it is the 4th day into the 2 week break me and Asher are having.

Somewhat of a holiday*

Anyways, since I haven't wrote anything on this virtual platform I shall now. In school, the very last week of school, my teacher told us she was going to teach us something important and we need to pay very careful attention. Now here's the punchline, we didn't exactly know what she was saying. So being the ever so typical kiasu Singaporean, (something we don't know, must get to know one right anot?) I said something that wasn't intentional, more or less an accidental slip of the tongue.

Literally word for word;
"Uhhh...Miss, I see your mouth moving but all I hear is blah blah blah blah blah blah blah." (yes laugh to your heart's content)

Well, theres 1 thing you have to like about Australia is the way they return back the sentence, not like the Singaporean way of "Oi shut ur mouth" but the more creative and ingenius way.

Teacher says;
"Well this is how the whole lot of you talk, I hope you all got the message."

Complete and absolute genius, we ought to learn some of this stuff from JK sometime. And to all the O/N/A Level & University Exam people, ALL THE BEST.

Alden was here.
